6:30-10:30pm  Party at the Boathouse (645 Lenox) - There is a driveway to drop off anyone who needs assistance. Otherwise, use street parking in the area and walk to the boathouse. Beer, wine, soft drinks and hot dogs will be served. Watch the homecoming bonfire from the boathouse or feel free to wander over to the football field. The bonfire should begin around 8:30-9:00pm. (Park District rule is that NO DRINKS ARE ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF THE BOATHOUSE.) Reunion books and t-shirts will be available for you to pick up when you leave, if you have not done so earlier. 

Saturday, September 27
7:00-11:30am  Pancake Breakfast (670 Crescent Blvd) - This event, sponsored by the Glenbard West Boosters, will be held in the cafeteria of the high school. The cost is $6.00 payable at the door.

10:00am  Homecoming Parade - WEAR YOUR T-SHIRT AND COMFORTABLE SHOES! The staging area for the parade is at Forest Glen School (561 Elm St).  We’re hoping that everyone will participate in the parade by either sitting on the flatbed truck or walking behind the truck. The parade route is about 1.5 miles and will end at Glenbard West in time for a tour of the school.
  
  For those participating in the parade, we have made arrangements for a bus to transport classmates from the Holiday Inn to Forest Glen School. If interested, please sign up in the Hospitality Room (See Shirley and/or Kathy). If you are staying elsewhere and wish to join the bus group at the Holiday Inn, call Shirley’s cell on Friday at 360.927.8139. A bus ride back to the Holiday Inn will be available after the parade, after the tour of Glenbard West and then again at 2:00pm. The bus from the Holiday Inn to Forest Glen will depart from the Holiday Inn at 9:30am sharp!

 If you want to meet us at Forest Glen School, find a parking spot on the side streets around the school. The parade does end at Glenbard West, so if you choose this option, you’ll need to find a way back to your car at Forest Glen. Plan to arrive at Forest Glen by 9:45am.

11:00am  Tour of the School - Organized by Audris Griffith, Assistant Principal of Instruction, and led by National Honor Society students, this tour will take approximately one hour and will make you so proud to be a Glenbard Alum! Meet in the front hall by the main office.

12:00pm  Lunch – A list of local restaurants will be available in the Hospitality Room and Boathouse. If you are attending the football game, there will be food available inside the Admission area.

1:30pm  Varsity Football Game - Admission is $4.00. Join up with friends in advance if you wish to sit together, since we are unable to have a special seating section for our class.

6:30pm  Reunion Dinner at the Holiday Inn - A cash bar will be available before and after dinner. If this is your first activity, you may pick up your nametag(s), reunion book and t-shirt at this time.

Sunday, September 28
8:00-11:00am  Holiday Inn Breakfast – Join others for a final breakfast (additional expense). Happy 50th Glenbard Reunion to all of you! 


Hotel Accommodations:  The Holiday Inn, Carol Stream has agreed to hold rooms for the Glenbard Class of 1958  guests  for the evenings of September 26 & 27 with checkout on the 28th.   Earlier check in o r later check out dates would be based on availability.   Check in time is 3:00 PM and check out is at 12:00 PM.   The guaranteed  rates are $90 for a single or double room  and $125 for a suite.  These rates are reasonable for the area.  You can contact the Holiday Inn by phone at 630-665-3000 or on their web site:   http://www.hicarolstream.com/  To ensure the discounted price be sure to mention  you are attending the Glenbard “West” 50th Reunion. Yeah, it’s Glenbard “West” to them!!!  If you are planning to stay at the Holiday Inn, Carol Stream , you will have a greater choice of room options  if you make your reservations early.   We are told that you will get better information and service if you make your reservation directly with the Holiday Inn/Carol Stream and not through the national reservation line.

 If the Holiday Inn is full, we have an alternate hotel close by; the Hampton Inn, Carol Stream, 205 W. North Avenue (Rt.64). The phone number there is 630-681-9200. We have negotiated a $90 rate for king and twin double rooms the same as the Holiday Inn. To receive the discounted rate you must specify the Group Code: "BGC". The hotel is only 8 years old and very well kept. A complimentary breakfast is included. The check in time is 3:00 PM and check out is 12:00 PM. Make reservations through the local number, not the 800 number. You must make reservations by September 1.

Reunion Registration:    The April 21st mailer provided a registration form for you to fill out and return. Please send registration form and checks to 50th Reunion Committee c/o Bill Gilbertson, 1540 N. Fanchon St. Wheaton, IL. 60187.  Make checks payable to Glenbard Class of 1958. 

Now that the deadline for returning registration forms and checks has passed we are receiving daily emails asking, "Can we still participate in the Reunion activities?" The answer is an emphatic "Yes!!" We have had classmates with health problems, travel problems, conflicts to settle or they just plan forgot, but everyone is welcome to participate. There is a reason we have a cutoff date for responding. That's because we need to cover guaranted minimums, fees, T-shirts, nametags, Memory Books, Web Site maintenance, etc., so it is helpful to know how many are coming. 

There are still quite a few of you who indicated on the Class Web Site page or to individual committee members that you would be attending the various weekend activities, yet have not sent in your registration forms and checks. Please do so at your earliest convenience. If you have any special requirements please contact one of us and we can work it out. We want as many Classmates to attend as is possible.
